Welcome to the Wild Bunch Tulsa Martial Arts Academy!!!
We are a part of the Wild Bunch Karate
Organization that was started by Bob Kinney and Bill Briscoe over 40 years ago. Martial
Arts styles we teach include Taekwon Do, Goju Ryu, Filipino Kali, Boxing, Kick Boxing, and
Ju Jitsu. The religious aspect of the Oriental arts are
not taught in our classes, but historical information and some philosophy is included
as a part of teaching. Our dojo is run with a basic family-oriented Christian ethic
structure.
We produce top notch martial arts warriors!!! We
encourage our students to attend karate tournaments, but our classes are focused
on preparing you to be able to protect yourself and your loved ones. All
students are required to maintain control of their violent emotions in class
with immediate intercession by the Teachers at the first sign of any lack of
physical control during any class session. Martial arts are taught for
self-defense only and abusively aggressive behavior towards others outside of
class is grounds for immediate dismissal. In our class you will learn how to
fight, but more importantly, you will learn how to avoid a fight.
You will also get a great cardio workout, increased physical strength and coordination.
Courtesy, Integrity,
Indomitable Spirit, Self Control, and Perseverance are the 5
Tenants of Taekwon Do. That is the character we teach each of our students and practice
ourselves. All students are taught to respect and listen to elder and upper ranks
and to support and nurture junior and lower ranks. Students are taught that family
and work/school come before Karate Class and we assist in reinforcing the importance
of school and good grades with all students.
